We are conveniently located next door to Carewell Health Medical Center (formerly East Orange General Hospital).
For patient appointments, our office hours are:
- Monday, Wednesday: 9:30 am – 4 pm
- Tuesday: 10 am – 6 pm
- Thursday: 9:30 am – 5 pm
- Friday: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
- 1st Saturday of every month: 9:30am - 12pm
The Optical Shop at Scott Eye Care during regular business hours and the first and third Saturday of the month from 9am to 1pm.
In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call emergency medical services at 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT! Inform the emergency room staff that you are a patient of Scott Eye Care, and they will contact us.
If you have an urgent medical need and need to talk to our doctors after our regular hours, please call our office at (973) 674-1070. A doctor is on-call 24 hours a day. Your call will be returned promptly.
At Scott Eye Care, we accept most major insurance plans. Please contact your insurance company, or you may call our office at (973) 674-1070 to find out if we accept your insurance plan.
If your insurance is an HMO/managed care plan and you are required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician, the referral must be obtained before you can be seen for an office visit. Please coordinate this with your primary care physician in advance. Appointments will be rescheduled if required referrals are not received in the office by the time of your visit.

Prescriptions and refills for established patients of Scott Eye Care are routinely issued during our regular office hours (see above). You can make your request by calling our office at (973) 674-1070.
Refills are generally not issued during the evenings, weekends, or holidays. It is helpful to anticipate your refill needs to avoid an interruption in your medication therapy.
